when we began building our home we let the tate and elliott choose their bedrooms, elliott wanted the smaller room with no windows. he really likes the coziness of it. i also let them decorate their rooms how they wanted (of course mom helped....but they had final say of what they wanted). tate and elliott's rooms are very different, both uniquely them. i still have to make curtains for tate's room, the curtains are about 10ft. long and i've just been putting it off. he has been super patient with a sheet hanging over his window....i'm about to get started on them. :-/ i'll post pictures of tate's room as soon as it's complete.
welcome to elliott's room.
we went to a re-claimed lumber yard and there was a pile of junk on the ground, elliott picked up an old fishing basket out of that heap of junk and told me that it was going to be the light fixture in his room. i like how his mind works!!!
the reflection that the light gives on the walls is so awesome....most everyone asks if it's wallpaper.
the chair elliott painted.
the beginning of his Ee collection. he LOVES his name and initials! he's always on the look out for an unique Ee.
paul painted the texas bluebonnet picture. elliott is quite proud of it.
we found the industrial light over the bed at a junk store for a $2. paul re-wired it.
when we were waiting to travel to get the boys and we were getting their room set up, i had thought about getting them an aquarium. one day i was out junking and came across this aquarium and it had a chinese pagoda in it (although it's hard to see in the photo because it has a big sucker fish sitting on the roof...HA). i knew it had to come home with me. tate and elliott have their own rooms now and they decided among themselves who got what and ells ended up with the aquarium.
vintage school map of asia. he really loves this!
