motion picture monday

recently viv had an eye appointment with a pediatric opthamologist, we just wanted to have her eyes checked out further, to make sure there was nothing going on that might not have been seen by the optometrist.

all is good....but he did change her prescription a little bit, he said that her glasses she has now can be a back up pair so i have been shopping around for new glasses....i am looking for something a little different than what she has now. ANYWAY, back to my post...viv is NOT a big dancer, when she hears music her body doesn't automatically start moving (unlike Max, he can't keep still) but while we were waiting for the doctor she started CUTTIN' A RUG in the exam room. thank goodness, i had my trusty camera in my purse so i grabbed it and recorded a few of her smooth moves :-).

3 post in 1 day....I have to much to journal and not enough days in the week! **SMILE**

i kid you NOT!

this was our fruit bowl monday morning......it's contents: cantaloupe, pears, bananas, plums, peaches, red grapes and green grapes. Viv and Max are HUGE fruit eaters...that is what they snack on and is their dessert if they want something else after their meals. i keep it out for them to graze on throughout the day....they have free reign over the fruit bowl.

all that is left is 2 very ripe bananas and 1 very sad pear. I can guarantee as pitiful and as these lonely pieces of fruit look, they will be eaten before the sun goes down.

looks like i'll be making a trip to the market.

don't get me wrong, paul and i also ate some of the fruit but it was by far Viv and Max that had the biggest part in cleaning out the clam shell. *SMILE*

memories made

i am about to brag on paul and it's not even FATHER'S DAY (what is this world coming to :-). paul is absolutely the best dad i have EVER seen!! his evenings are all about vivi jo and max, he doesn't relax on the sofa to read or watch television, instead, it's playtime and reading them books until their bedtime. the other day during his lunch, he came up with a fun surprise for them. all day long i told them that they would get a surprise when daddy came home. they were so excited trying to guess what it was. i gave them an early bath then put their pajamas on. soon after, paul came home, he walked in with the bag that had the small dome tent in it, viv knew exactly what it was, she yelled out "camping"(which means tent). she helped daddy put the tent up....max got the basket full of little toys to dump inside (very important :-).... and i made an easy but delicious homemade pizza (i really need to share the recipe)....we all got in the tent, ate pizza, and watched the BACKYARDIGANS. it was a wonderful memory made for all of us! thank you paul for enjoying your kids! i love you so much!

This video was taken back on June 1st....she has grown up so much in 2 months!

happiness in a cup!

after nap-time i took max and viv to get a sno-cone. they both wanted blue. max liked his but he is not a big sweet eater....vivi on the other hand LOVED hers and she LOVES anything and everything sweet.

Here is how the story goes:

now lil viv eats hers not so calmly and slowly........she's living up the moment and is quite excited and quickly downs her delicious sweet treat.

how could this be?? it was here and then all of a sudden it's gone?

she sees that max has over a half a cup left!

she proceeds to tell him how nice it is to share.

max had all he wanted but viv thinks she convinced him to "share".

sweet success!

mission accomplished!

these pictures are from the spring, i realized i haven't journaled them riding their bikes. it is amazing to me how much they have grown in such a short time.

when we take the kids to ride bikes, we like to take them to the parking lot at our church. our church is right around the corner from our house. they can ride and run around and we don't have to worry about traffic. here are some pictures of one of our outings.

paul and i feel that it is very important to teach manners and respect to vivi jo and max, so they are often reminded to say, yes mam, yes sir, please, excuse me, thank you, etc. viv is a HOOT! she is always making me laugh, the other day we were on the road and she wanted to hand me something, so while driving, i reach back to take it. she quickly says, mama, you didn't say thank you....I say, oh sorry, thank you. She says, "let's try that again"....LOL....i think we've created a manners monster. :-D. i better be careful because everything i say, she is going to repeat it.....oh how i love my girl!
