a bowl of chili and oklahoma???
it was chili and crackers for lunch yesterday. max took a couple bites of his cracker and looked at it and said, "look mom, it's oklahoma". LOL....i went to look at the map and by golly it was oklahoma. LOL...paul and i laughed and laughed....i had to go look at the map to make sure but max knew exactly what it looked like. next cracker he took a couple of bites off of it and said, "look mom, it's lousiana. LOL. i don't know if he is a cracker artist and he bit the crackers to make it look like the states or if by chance it just happened both times and he recognized the resemblance....either way, this kid cracks me up!!!

my snow bunnies
it is WHITE in east texas. i have NEVER seen this much snow here. i will be the first to admit, I DON'T LIKE COLD and I DON'T LIKE SNOW for more than one day. yesterday was fun...we played in the snow, made snow angels, and had snowball fights but like I said one day is good for me but not for my two little snow bunnies, bright and early this morning they were ready to go outside and play. not extremely thrilled at the thought of it, i bundled us all up and we went outside and played and built a snowman, i did enjoy it but i have to say, i was NOT sad when they were ready to come in. give me a 105 degree day in august and i will be raring to go but this texas girl doesn't do well in the cold.

last night our electricity was out for several hours and i admit i thoroughly enjoyed that....we lit our oil lamp and candles and had a picnic in the foyer in front of the fireplace and ate snow ice cream, we played mother may i, simon says, charades and made some treasured memories. it was a great lesson and reminder how thankful we are for electricity....i told vivi jo and max that long ago there was no electricity and people lived with oil lamps and candles all the time....vivi could not hardly believe it, her response was, "NO WAY!".

d-now weekend
it was a GREAT weekend with 19 GREAT 7th grade girls and 3 GREAT leaders. we were privileged to host these girls for the weekend. vivi and max LOVED their time with them...normal life will never be the same :-).
just a few pair of shoes left at the door :-O.
