according to max

max loves the wonder pets! he got the fly boat and the three wonder pets for his birthday from his meme. he plays with them all the time....even while we sleep the little critters sit on the night stands of each family member and according to max, which ever one is sitting on your night stand is who you are. the only problem with that is there are only three wonder pets and four of us.....so here is how max solved the problem so no one would be left out.

annual check-up

max had his yearly check-up on his hand at scottish rite. he was given two thumbs up and the doctor will see us next year. they have the coolest waiting room and their playground is great!

motion picture monday

meme and pawpaw came for a visit a couple months back. they brought their camper and stayed out at the lake. viv and max had a ball. while they were having a snack we had a few visitors. they had fun sharing their popcorn.

road trip

paul was off work week before last and we decided to take a road trip and enjoy the fall foliage. we got the kids out of bed before the sun came up, still in their pajamas(i always loved that when i was a kid) and we were off for a day of driving, leaf collecting and just enjoying our time together. we stopped and got pigs-in-a blanket, which is a big treat for viv and max. after the sun came up we pulled over on the side of the road and let them get dressed in the van. we drove a while and then stopped, drove a while and stopped and drove a while and stopped, each time we got out, walked around collecting leaves, max collected rocks :-). we all had our favorite colored leaves, vivi's was yellow and max's was green...lol...(so much for the turning leaves..good thing there were lots of pine trees :-)...green is max's favorite color. we drove up into oklahoma and over to arkansas and then back around to texas. actually, we were a little late, the colors had already started to fade a bit but they were still beautiful. we had a GREAT day enjoying God's creation and spending time together.

and the rain came down!

wordless wednesday

halloween 2009

i know this is late but i wanted to journal it, so i guess better late than not at all. since our little town had trick-or-treat on the square friday, we decided to stay at home and have friends over. earlier in the day we carved our pumpkin, a first for viv....she had the time of her life, she loved every messy minute of it! max on the other hand could not handle the smell...i got so tickled, in most of the pictures max was holding his nose, he quickly left the project for some fresh air :-). that evening the pierce family came over and we ate chili and mummy wrapped hot dogs (no britney they were not veggie dogs this time...we wanted our friends to come back :-), and played SEQUENCE while the kids passed out candy...and I mean PASSED OUT CANDY! if the word gets around, next year our house will be THE HOUSE to visit. the kids didn't just give out one or two pieces per treater, they gave HAND FULLS!! it was a great night!

just get ready darrel, next time your goin' DOWN...melinda and i WILL win :-P.
