Vivi Jo's New Love.....

LEGOs
***
This past weekend we went to visit Meme and PawPaw, Auntie Kari, my brother-in-law Chris, my nieces Jasee and Kylee, the one and only Kiki (my sister Kristi), she drove down from Oklahoma with her daughter, my oldest niece Logan, now known as Lola. We had a wonderful wonderful time!
****
Meme and PawPaw had a bucket of Legos and little Viv had a ball!! She played with them almost non-stop. I guess we need to make a Lego purchase, that may be a great Easter gift for her. Max on the other had was not that impressed, he might have enjoyed them more if Mr. Ed weren't around. He and Mr. Ed hung out in front of the TV. The two became big buds during the short time we were there :-)

i Heart Faces ~ Pouting Faces

This weeks {i Heart Faces} theme is POUTY FACES....this is one of Max's many faces we don't see often so when he pulled out the bottom lip while wearing this t-shirt, I flew across the room and grabbbed my camera. This picture is from Sept.2008 and when I saw what this weeks theme was I knew exactly what picture I would be using.

Digging A Hole to China

This is one of Max and Vivi Jo's favorite activities...digging digging and more digging. Daddy bought them both a shovel and hoe, just like his, only pint size. You can tell by the photos that they take this job very seriously. Paul has accepted the fact that there will be NO grass growing in that area of his yard. Grass can grow when they are older so for now they are China bound :-).

Queen of the STICKS!

Photobucket

Our sweet little Viv loves eating with chopsticks.....it just works better for her than a fork. I love watching her.....this girl has some serious skillz!

I stand corrected by my friend Jen.....it's MAD skillz that she has....serious MAD skillz. Thanks Jen for keeping me in the know. :-P

Those precious things your kids say......

(these pictures have nothing to do with this post...just wanted to share)

Photobucket

....that you never want to forget...that is why I LOVE having my blog.

We have established a really good bedtime routine for Vivi Jo and Max, after our teeth are good and clean we all gather together to read a bible story, sing a couple songs and pray...then I tuck Vivi Jo in and snuggle her, she love for me to hold her like a baby, while Daddy tucks Max in, then we switch. Every night when I go in Max's room to tuck him in...he ALWAYS says, "Lay down for minutes", I lay down, we snuggle and sing together our version of, Sugar Pie Honey Bunch. Last night after our snuggles, I was getting up and out of the blue he tells me, "Max not picka nose at Walmart....O-nee at home."

That's right Max, O-nee at home :-)

When you read it imagine a Chinese/Texas accent...so sweet and precious to this mama's ears.

Heritage Day *2009*

We attended Buckner's Heritage Day a few weeks back. We went *last year* and Max had so much fun that we knew we wanted to go again this year, this is right up Vivi Jo's alley....crafts crafts and more crafts. We "traveled" from country to country, Max pretended he was an airplane and flew from room to room. In each room a country was represented, they gave a little information, had food and a craft from that country. Of course Vivi Jo and Max wore their traditional Chinese outfits to show their China pride :-). The countries represented were China, Ethiopia, Russia, Guatemala, and India.

Guess what tomorrow is?

We ask Vivi Jo and Max this question every Friday. And their answer is...{as they jump up and down, clapping their hands}....IT'S DONUT SHOP DAY! I have shared in a past post about Max wearing a cap like daddy on Donut Shop Day but now Lil Viv has joined the Saturday morning donut run...cap and all! It's so precious to me how something so simple is so BIG and special to my little ones.

Photobucket
....of course Max cannot make the run without wearing his BELOVED tiger pants....we're starting to flood a bit, I'm thinking I might need to make shorts out of them :-). Who only knew when I payed .25 cents for this tiger suit at a garage sale, he would love it so much. When I bought this priceless suit, I was in love with Max through a photo, dreaming of the day he would wear it.......if he wants me to make a speedo out of the pants when he is 16, you can bet I will (with the tail still attached...hehehe)....that was NOT part of my dream so let us only hope it is put away in his keepsake box by then :-D.

This morning was all about plaid flannel and caps turned backwards.

This a special day they share with just their daddy....I hope they look back when they are older and have fond memories of Donut Shop Day!

Our Special Guest

We recently had a very special guest come to our house...meet Abby. Abby is a precious little girl that has a big heart for China. She is not sure if the Lord is calling her to adopt or maybe calling her to the mission field when she is older. She is so precious and has the sweetest family you will ever meet! I forget she is only 10 years old because she is so grown up. She brought Vivi Jo and Max a beautifully wrapped gift, so beautiful that I went and bought the same wrapping for a birthday party the kids recently went to. I wish I had taken a close up picture of it...it was so cute! Vivi Jo and Max had a ball with her and love looking at pictures of that special day.

Abby, thank you for coming over! Max and Vivi Jo are still playing with their basket full of goodies! We love you and want you to come back soon!

Abby, We LOVE YOU!!

My Photo Blog

I started a little photo blog HERE. Right now, it's a blog for me to have fun with, to pratice, and to learn more about photography, someday I would love to make it into a business. I only have one post on it right now, it's an i Heart Faces challenge, which are a lot of fun. My sweet friend Jen is going to design me a special little something when she gets time to breathe :-). HOP ON OVER and say HI to lil ol'me!

Mini Shoppers

Vivi Jo and Max love to "shop"! They walk all over the house filling their bags with all kinds of goodies and they get so excited about their purchases. What is it they say about "apples falling" and "monkeys seeing" ;-) ?

Check This Out!

My friend Jen that designs all my blog looks, creates a new and special design on her blog for important dates in her life, such as birthdays, her anniversary, etc.....don't you know how special that must make her kids feel! Her daughter, Annie had a birthday this past week and I hopped over to send her a belated birthday wish and THIS is what I found (don't X out to quickly so you can see what I am talking about). Jen's talent NEVER ceases to amaze me. She is a genius in blog design.....and is also very modest, she will probably want to shoot me for bragging about her but I just wanted to share the cuteness!
ENJOY!!

Fashionista

Earlier today I did a post on fashion and shared a slide show of the styles I LOVE. Tonight I was going though my pictures and I found a photo of me and I wanted to share my true fashion sense.

LOL...I know it's sad but to my defense it was a cold, rainy, stay at home day....no more excuses....what can I say, this is just me!

Kim, you might decide to take back the sweet comment you left on the precious post.

:-)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....

I LOVE fashion!...I have a folder on my computer that is FULL of lovelies that I have collected over the years. I was looking through them earlier and thought I would share with those eyes that behold the same beauty as mine. I can't say I have a favorite, I love them all....here are a few of the many. I tried posting a slide show but it wouldn't ever come up.
CLICK HERE and it will take you to it.

Our Valentine's Day Tradition

(I know this post is way late)

Last year started our Valentine's Eve tradition....we bake...or shall I say Paul and the kids bake...I take pictures(it's a tough job but somebody has to do it...hehehe). There are several widow ladies in our church and community that we take our baked goodies to on Valentine's day. This was Paul's idea, he is the sweetest, and most kind hearted person I have ever met. He shared with me last year before Valentine's day that he wanted to start doing this every year because Valentine's day can be a hard day for those who have lost the one they love and he wanted these ladies to know they were thought about and cared for. It's also to teach Vivi Jo and Max to care and reach out to others. I am so thankful and blessed that my husband has such a servants heart.
