This was just a few minutes after Max was placed in our arms.

Well, it's exactly 12 AM Saturday and I cannot sleep. I have been laying in bed texting Hayden for a while, told him goodnight, and am still wide awake (to much green tea), so I decided I would start on Paul's Fathers Day post...nothing I say will begin to do him justice.

Paul is an incredible husband and father, Paul is gentle, patient, soft spoken, thoughtful, humble, kind, generous, I could name off all the Fruits of the Spirit because he lives out every one of them, he is fun and funny, he LOVES the Lord and he LOVES his family!
Paul is the kind of daddy that jumps on the trampoline with his kids, cooks with them, gets in the kiddie pool with his clothes on if they want him to swim, reads books, plays duck-duck-goose around the kitchen table, plays with them in the floor of their room singing and playing instruments, playing ball, getting doctored, playing kitchen, having tea parties, putting puzzles together, you name it. Paul is a hands on daddy, he truly enjoys his children. They will not remember him sitting on the sofa watching television, they will remember how he played with them and how he enjoyed every minute of it.
Most importantly Paul is a daddy that teaches his children to love and trust God, he teaches them through action to love and care for other people, to have a servants heart, and to put others before yourself.
Friday, Max, Vivi Jo and I went shopping to find Daddy the perfect Father's Day gift......or what they thought was perfect :-). We went to the Just A Dollar where everything in the store is JUST A DOLLAR...hehehe. I told Max and Viv that they could choose 5 things each to give Daddy on his very special day. I let them choose whatever they wanted. They had a ball, they would choose something and then switch it out with something they liked better. I bet we were in there for over an hour. I let them both pick out a card and a gift bag. They both chose a bag that said Over The Hill....LOL...Max said, I want that bag that has my favorite letter "H" on it (every letter is his favorite :-). Vivi Jo chose her bag because she liked the bright colors, and the card she chose was a Happy Birthday Mom card...it had a mom driving a red van. Max chose a card with a dog on the front and it said, Sorry your feeling down....I'm asking the Lord to lift you up. He cares for you and I do too! They were so proud of their bag, card and gifts they got Daddy! A few days earlier I bought Paul a shirt, chocolate covered espresso beans (his all time favorite candy) and a Family Fun magazine, he will love that magazine because it is packed full of fun simple things to do together as a family. I can guarantee without a doubt that his favorite gifts will be the ones that were so carefully chosen with so much love by Vivi Jo and Max....he will cherish them!
From Max, Daddy got: a really BIG screw driver, cat toy (balls with jingles inside), pepper shaker, soccer ball with gum in it, and measuring spoons.

From Vivi Jo, Daddy got: a different kind of cat toy (no we don't have a cat :-), measuring cups, a football with gum in it, orange corn cob holders, salt shaker.

As you can tell by the pictures, Daddy got a kick out of his gifts and loved them all so much!
They were so proud of what they got him!
