Crazy Hair Day

I know this seems random but it is for a reason. I follow a blog of a sweet family that adopted a precious daughter from China and also has an adorable little girl that is either in kindergarten or first grade, anyway she posted on her blog that her daughters school was having Spirit Week and one day was Crazy Hair Day. I commented her sharing this hairdo idea, I tried to explain it, and as you can see it is something you can't just explain you have to see it to understand.....so here it is....In this picture Britney was a senior in high school, I'm sure she will appreciate this one....Mama loves you Britney :-)

Here it is Hay Hay - Check it out

Of course I could not keep this from Hayden....I wanted to surprise him with this t-shirt but I couldn't wait, I knew he would be so excited! If you don't already know, this is a T-shirt from the TV show LOST the best show ever!!! These mysterious numbers are very significant in the show....you need to rent the past 3 seasons and see for yourself.
We didn't start the show from the 1st season, Hayden didn't either, he came home saying how awesome season 1 & 2 were and Paul and I thought that we would rent them too and catch up before season 3 started. We thought that it would be fun watching it together as a family and boy has it been. The 4th season starts Thursday at 7:00 central....Wednesday at 8:00 will be a preview of the last season. Thanks Amy for telling me about this shirt....I delight in surprising my kiddos with things I know they will love and I love putting a smile on their face :-)
When I told him yesterday he was excited just like I knew he would be. He was so appreciative and thanked me over and over and even called me at bedtime thanking me again.....I am so BLESSED with such precious children!!!

D-NOW was a great success. Aric, again you did a GREAT job. The above pictures are some of my girls. I baked and had lots of goodies all ready for them, I had no idea that they were bringing their own snacks, several came in with 2 grocery bags full of junk food. I don't think I have never seen so much junk food in one place. I am used to keeping boys and they are lucky if they come with clothes to wear the next day or a sleeping bag, they never bring their own food....don't get me wrong they always want to eat, they just count on you to supply the goods (i am always glad to), and it doesn't matter what you have for them they eat it up like it was the best thing they have ever eaten.(i'm not saying i don't love having a group of boys because i DO, i'm just sharing the differences)

I got so tickled at the girls, they had a mountain of curling irons, blow dryers and hair straighteners in the bathroom, make-up galore and enough clothes for a week. They were so cute getting all primped. I really enjoyed them and Max had a blast and even let a couple of them hold him which is a big deal for him. He doesn't meet a stranger but rarely lets people hold him. They chased him around the house and he was the center of attention....like he is not used to that :-)

It was a great weekend!....Until next year.

D-NOW

This is Disciple Now weekend at our church. Hayden is home, he is leading a group of guys. It was so good to see him, I really have missed him since he went back to school and Max was so surprised and excited when Bubba walked in. We are a host home and will have about 15, 9Th grade girls. Yes....I am excited!!...I know all of these young ladies and I love them so much. Max is napping right now and I need to be in the kitchen baking.....NO healthy foods this weekend. They are eating meals up at the church but you know high school girls need a late night snack.....

Here is what is on the menu:

Chewy Chocolate Brownies
Sugar Cookies
Popcorn Cake
Peanut Brittle
Chips and Salsa
Popcorn
Coke and Dr. Pepper

Oh how I love spoiling these girls....I'll post pictures later.

As soon as Max wakes up, he and I are going up to the church to take pictures of the D-NOW weekend decorations....Hayden said they are unbelievable.

I just couldn't stand not posting a picture of my sweet baby boy. Is this sweet or what....he LOVES Mimmy so much!!!(teddy bear....i really don't know how he came up with that name but i love hearing him say it!)

Kim at Seventh Diamond ask, "Does your cat do this?" Since we don't have a cat then my answer to that is no but.......

my SON DOES

and this.....

and this....

and more.... I just don't always have my camera handy.

*

The puppy is his very favorite toy, my sister Kristi gave it to him. I guess he decided he needed a bath :-) Kristi we saved the puppy, Paul took all the electronics out and gave it a good bath, let it dry put it back together and it is as good as new.

*

What a little explorer we have...it's so funny how my views have changed with age....with the first 3, I would say THEY GET INTO EVERYTHING...... now I see it as exploring his surroundings, I embrace it, and feel good if I can get to it and fish it out of the toilet before I hear it flush.

*

If we have something missing we 1st look in the toilet and 2nd in the diaper pail :-)

*

Around here Mr. Max is referred to as Mr. Busy.

Less stress = More fun!!!

He said it....Max told me he loved me for the first time.

I tell him I love you all the time and he would hug me and recently when he learned the "I love you" sign, he would throw that sign up when I told him, but today we were eating lunch and I said, I love you and he said it back to me. I kept saying, say it again, say it again...I couldn't hear it enough. I thought I was going to cry, I immediately looked at the clock because I wanted to document it. What sweet and precious words.....

I uggg ew.
