Hobo Max

We had a BIG Halloween Day. Max and I left early and drove to JieJie's (Britney) school. She had a Halloween carnival/party in her classroom and I helped her with it while Max had a BLAST with all the kids!!! He LOVED it! I enjoyed seeing Britney as a teacher and she is AMAZING! We had a wonderful time with her and then came home to pick up Dada and then went trick or treating around our town square. Max loaded up on the candy and then we came back home to give out candy, Max had just as much fun handing out candy as he did trick or treating. When the doorbell rang, he got so excited and ran 90 to nothing for the door. He gave HUGE handfuls of candy to the kids and was so excited to see all of the costumes. Since it was Halloween, I let him eat candy until he didn't want anymore before and after dinner. My sister in law Brenda went trick or treating with us and came over the house for a Halloween dinner of Hot Dog Mummies.
We had a wonderful day!

Hot Dog Mummies

Chop Chop

Well, I finally decided it was time...past time for my baby to get a hair cut, we couldn't put it off any longer. The reason his hair was so long is because he is absolutely terrified of getting his hair cut. He sits in my lap while it is being cut but he is so scared that he cries and cries....so we haven't gotten a haircut in a very long time. We talked about it the day before he got it cut and that morning...he knew and understood, he was really brave and only cried at the beginning then he sat in my lap and let Mrs. Dayna cut it. I was so proud of him! I posted before and after photos of his new do but also look at the difference in his face...he was so nervous and then so relieved.

Photobucket

He had a death grip on his wrench.....I wonder if he was thinking, "I'll use it if I have to".

Photobucket

He is so happy that it is over and thinking, "Lucky you Mrs. Dayna, that I didn't have to use it".

Thank you Mrs. Dayna, we love you so much!

Country Fest 2008

Every fall a civic club in our town sponsors Country Fest. It has really grown over the years and I think it is one of the best around! Many ladies work very hard on this event and they do an amazing job! Max had a BLAST!!! He and his Dada went to the pancake breakfast early that morning. Country Fest is something we don't miss! Next year Max and Vivi will get to enjoy it together. I just picture the big grins on their faces, and the giggles they will share...the thought of that makes me smile :-)

Painting Report

We did it, IT IS COMPLETE....well, the painting anyway. I stayed up real late Thursday night and got the first coat on everything, Tammy came over early Friday and we finished in record time....in enough time for us to paint my bedroom again...I'll explain the AGAIN :-), back about a couple of months ago I wanted to paint my bedroom a shade lighter...it was just too dark and I wanted it a tad bit lighter. I painted it and loved it. We had a huge pecan tree that we had cut down that was way to close to the house, before we had it cut down I didn't think about how much brighter it would make my bedroom. If I had just waited to paint my bedroom after the tree was down I would have seen that the shade of my bedroom was perfect, but I didn't so.....I re-painted my bedroom back to the shade it was 2 months ago. I knew that would bug me so I jumped in and started painting my bedroom while Tammy was finishing up on a couple cabinet doors. We are such a team, she would rather do the edges and trim while I would rather slap paint on the walls. Then when my precious husband came home and my house looked like a tornado swept through, he helped me get everything cleaned up, organized and things put back in place. It looks FABULOUS!! I love it. I will post photos but first I am wanting to lightly distress the cabinets and Paul needs to hand the awesome chandelier that he painted for me, these are on the to do list for this weekend....I can't wait...seriously that will totally make the kitchen!

Thank you Tammy for all your hard work and for the fun we had while doing it! Here are a couple of pictures of the two of us working hard.

We have lived in our home 2 yrs 7 mos....guess how many coats of paint I have put on my bedroom walls???

I bet you are wondering how we got all this done with a toddler in the house....1st of all....he is AWESOME....mischievous at times but AWESOME, such a good boy! Second, it is a real TREAT for Max to watch television....we strictly limit his TV time and are freakishly strict about what he watches. Well, he had a couple of TV days while we were painting, he thought he was in heaven. Actually he didn't know what to think, but he loved it...I hope he doesn't go through withdrawals.

I'll post pictures as soon we get the few things completed!

2 weeks and 1 day.....

before we leave for China and look what Kimi started. In my mind this was not a biggie, I could whip this baby out in no time flat.....in reality, the bite I took was bigger than I thought. I'll get it done...I hope :-). We are having a birthday party for Max on Saturday and we have family coming in....what was I thinking????? I am hoping I will be complete by tonight and then to the next project tomorrow (more about that later), Tammy volunteered to help me tomorrow, she is coming early in the morning and I may not let her go home :-)...Okay my 10 minute break is over...I'll post the after photos early next week...after the party and our family has gone back home.

Iron Chef Max

Max has a HUGE imagination! He is a BIG time pretender. A few days ago we brought pots and pans in Vivi Jo's room and he started cooking. Check out the mess in the room, he is breaking it in real good! Sit back and take some cooking lessons from my own little Iron Chef.
Photobucket
We must always wash our hands before we start cooking. The door knob is his faucet.

Photobucket
The water is running over his hands....can't you see it?

Photobucket
Getting his hands washed good and clean.

Photobucket
Drying his hands with the towel he got off of the wall....oops, water must have splashed in his eyes.

Photobucket
Ready to cook....cracking the egg.

All good chefs hold their tongue out don't you know :-P

Now for the milk.

Photobucket
Stir it all together.

Photobucket
It must have sauce (salt).

Photobucket
More stirring...

HOW DOES IT TASTE MAX?
